I was going to post an actual entry, since Live Journal is still misbehaving and I've had every intent of posting here and then deleting the post from my edit history, to maybe, maybe, start establishing something like a tiny niche of privacy where I could vent about living with my husband and daughter and not having my son around for back-up (although in honestly he is as bad or worse when it comes to clutter and borderline hoarding).

My energy levels were just about up to creating and posting an icon. Now I must rest so I cango photograph that dogwood tree is better light, before the oaks and maples leaf out and put the tree in total shade.

One of the ways my father was crazy was that he could not cut down a dogwood tree. He loved wildflowers, knew the difference between native plants and weeds, was a bit nuts when it came to timber but loved the things that bloomed in spring. He'd have been 93 this coming Thursday.

Julia, perhaps I'll post here more , just to see.

I am in no way even a little organized; it took me the best part of an hour to get the icon made and loaded, and I've copped out of getting the dogwood tree photographed today due to general owieness and extreme crankitude.

If I could find my hammers and go down and take the fence and the gate off the gatepost Anna drove over so the gate could be hung on the post she put in the ground on Tuesday, I'd maybe feel just a little less overwhelmed by Things Left Undone.

Julia, right now I'm missing two hammers, a brace and its collection of bits and the froe I need for splitting old fence posts into fenceboards.

Sometimes I think that daughters and vehicles are not mixy things...

Oh, this was both of them: she was driving the truck and her brother overrode my absolute demand that she not try the turn into our driveway until she'd been driving a lot longer.

Seriously. People who have been driving for decades hate that turn; my brother-in-law goes out of his was yo avoid it. The drive is less than three metres wide, and drops two and a half meters on one side and a metre and a half on the other, and the shoulders are soft. It was built for horse-drawn conveyances.

Julia, my son treats it with typical insouciance, and I fer the day his overconfidence catches him up
